The table saw makers don't make the great after market miter gauges. Why? They make no money from including useless gauges hoping to upsell you. So why don't they include good gauges? Surely it can't be that expensive to include a gauge with those adjustment screws that fit it snugly in the track.

This guy is selling crap. It takes a long career to get to that. You don't start there. You'll starve while training. Apprentice programs can't work when the apprentice starved to death and don't show up next week. I am a retired HVAC tech and I made peanuts for years before I was valuable enough to make real good money. Difference is, the shit pay back then would at least pay some bills. Not these days. I left making 100k. But I had a hard time breaking 50 for a long time

My complaint is based in the past... bad experiences with Craftsman, Black & Decker, these and others now owned by them, including Dewalt. They ruined Porter Cable. Anything owned by them and made by them I will not buy. You pointed out the problem with your earlier Dewalt... It is apparent to me the pencil pushers run that operation, who always have the same business plan: How cheap can we build it, and now much can we charge for it.

40 years ago, I utilized this angled trick to lock x4 each 2x12x20 foot lumber together to make a beam, also with liquid nails between the pieces, and it worked great, every other pole barn spike was driven in at the opposite angle and it is still holding well today. I also utilized this trick on my 24 ft trusses using 5/8 plywood on both sides with liquid nails, when I built them, Thanks for sharing that.

I normally buy DeWalt for my power tools. I was a bit broke the week I needed one to cut out some flooring trim on a permanent shelf. I bought a cheap oscillating tool from harbor freight. It was corded with an adjustable speed dial and only $30. I figured I’d only use it once. Was I wrong. It’s a wonderful tool and since it’s adjustable, I’ve even cut dash plastic with no burning or melting plastic.

If you bed paper tape with hot mud expect to it crack open after a couple years if your even that lucky and it doesn't crack sooner. The tape doesn't soak up and adhere well with fast drying joint compound. Use all purpose on the first bedding pass and then you can safely get away using hot mud on the upper coats. I'll stake my 51 years in construction on the above statement!

Recently I read an article on wasps that they have face recognition abilities. If you are fighting them they know who you are and come after you or chase you till they get you. Be aware. Without knowing this information, two years ago, a black wasps nest slowly appeared inside my enclosed porch. I'm highly allergic to bees and I have to keep updated epy pen at all times. The short version of the story is that I started quietly walking by them while actively flying above my head in and out of my front door. I decided not to take any actions against them thinking they will leave by October. They did leave and did not return but never bothered me either. 👍

I own a few rentals and I'm always painting between tenants . Here's my hack for better coverage of cheap paint. Take a few (3/4 for a gallon) heaping tablespoons of spackle and mix it into a thick slurry with water. Take the slurry and add it to any flat or eggshell paint or color. Get a small mixing bit, put it on a drill, and thoroughly mix the paint and the spackle slurry in the paint can. This will make the cheapest Walmart paint cover much better. it's perfect for stain-blocking or covering stupid colors. It also works well to make S/W paint samples usable. The other coverage trick I use is for trim and it's simple. Before painting an area use a damp cloth to pre-moisten the area to be painted. Don't make it wet just damp. This will make the paint flow like magic, cover better, and as long as you're using a fine brush will leave no paintbrush lines.
